On Monday morning Steve and Lexie visited Robinson Preserve, a park on Palma Sola Bay and Tampa Bay (https://www.mymanatee.org/connect/locations/location-details/robinson-preserve).

They walked 2.5 miles, mostly on the Eagle Loop trail. The preserve has a variety of habitats and a lot of waterways.

Monday evening we visited Dan and Andrea, meeting them at the new Dead Bob’s that is nearer their house. Dinner was burgers, but of course there was peel-n-eat shrimp for appetizers (and boneless chicken wings and brussel sprouts.)

After dinner we went back to the ‘South Pole’ where we did laundry while Vicki and Dan jammed. The youtube clips below were edited to one minute due to copyright restrictions from YouTube.

Thor says goodby to us as we leave Monday night. It was a great week of visits with Dan, Andrea, Thor and Luna.

Tuesday we went golfing to Buffalo Creek, a public golf course that was not as picturesque as Greenfield Links. https://golfbuffalocreek.com/

And this area has been in a drought, the rainfall is 10″ below normal since September. This explains all the brown grass, and the water hazards at the golf course were half filled.

We showed up at 3pm, and played until 6:15, getting 15 holes in.

The most adventurous part of the golf game was losing Steve’s phone. We were able to find it on Google (picture of computer screen on left), but when we returned on Wednesday morning the ground crew had already found it. After drying out the phone, it was still working.
V: the funniest part of the phone adventure was Steven has a picture of the two of us as his phone wallpaper. The maintenance guy came zooming up when he saw us at the hole in a golf cart but not with clubs. He stared at me and before I could ask, he said “we found your phone.” Obviously, we didn’t have to show proof of ownership of that phone.

Wednesday Vicki was feeling under the weather, so Steve took a bike ride (22.5 miles) along the Legacy Trail in Sarasota. There was a headwind that slowed southward progress on the first part of the trip, but heading back was much quicker. The trail was fairly wide, and the electric bikes were the dominant mode of transportation.

Those were the closing memories (besides draining the waste water tanks) of our stay in Bradenton. We have enjoyed our stay in this area both last year and this year.
